Late Mr. Bismaraj Bam
Late Mr. Bhishmaraj Bam was a former Director General of Police of Maharashtra State and a Sport Psychologist, Leading Motivator and Expert in Excellence, Stress Management and Personality Development.
He was a beloved mentor among many athletes, even some recognized ones as Cricketers Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, Rifle Shooters Anjali Bhagwat and Suma Shirur, Track Athletes Kavita Raut and Monica Athare, Pistol Shooter Jaspal Rana, Badminton Player P. Gopichand and more. His guidance has helped them in improving their performance significantly.
In 1999, Bam sir Founded XL Target Shooters Association in Nashik to promote the sport of shooting among locals. Being a skilled shooter and wonderful mentor himself, he identified the young talent at the club. Under his guidance, the club has been proudly producing International level shooters as well as National Players and Medalists. He was keen on incorporating Yoga in athletes training and daily life. Bam sir was Founder and Chief Executive of Purushottam Academy, Nashik which primarily worked for promotion of Excellence in all fields and carrying on research in Indian Psychology i.e. the science of Yoga. He understood the power yoga holds and he was keen on helping athletes yield that power into their performance and journey towards success. He was a faculty for Yoga Gurukul run by Yog Vidya Dham, Nashik
Bam sir was also a trustee and Faculty for chanakya Mandal, Pune, an institution devoted to promotion of integrity and efficiency in youth
Bam sir’s immense contribution in his profession and in the field of sport psychology was celebrated with many awards such as President’s Police Medal, Indian Police medal, Lifetime achievement award by State Govt. for Sports as well as lifetime achievement award by Indian association of Sports psychology. He was also felicitated with Shiv Chhatrapati Award for Sport Promotion, highest honor in sport by State govt. of Maharashtra.
Through his books Marg Yashacha (marathi), Mana Sajjana (marathi), Vijayache ManasShastra (marathi) and winning habits (English, later translated into 4 indian languages), he penned down his life’s experiences and learnings making it accessible to the most common person, without any barrier of language.
